It ranges in size from 1 and 1/2 inches down to the smallest sand particle, making it suitable for various applications. It’s also known as crush and run gravel.
2-4 Round River Stone
2″-4″ river stones, or river rock, are smooth, naturally rounded stones commonly used in landscaping. They come in various colors and are prized for their natural beauty and versatility in outdoor projects, including garden beds, pathways, and water features. Their smooth texture and size make them comfortable to walk on and help with soil erosion control.
1.5 Crushed Gravel
1.5″ crushed gravel is a coarse aggregate used in construction and landscaping. Its large particle size (approx. 1.5 inches) provides excellent stability, making it ideal for roads, drainage, and foundations. It can also enhance outdoor aesthetics with its textured appearance.
Tailings
Tailings are round rocks that are screened out during the gravel-making process. Given their size and versatility they can be used for construction, drainage, and landscaping applications.
1/2 Crushed Gravel
1/2″ crushed gravel is a versatile material used in construction and landscaping due to its small, uniform size (approximately 1/2 inch). It serves as a stable base for driveways and walkways, while its affordability and easy compaction make it a popular choice for both residential and commercial projects. In landscaping, it’s used decoratively for pathways, borders, or ground cover.
6 Inch Crushed Gravel
6-inch crushed gravel, or 6″ crushed stone, is a robust coarse aggregate primarily used in heavy-duty construction. These sizable stones, around 6 inches in diameter, are ideal for supporting heavy loads and ensuring stability in road, driveway, and large-scale landscaping projects. Their strength and drainage properties are well-suited for various construction needs.
Rip Rap 6-8
6-8 inch rip rap, often referred to as rip rap or riprap, is a large and rugged aggregate material used primarily for erosion control and shoreline protection. These stones have a substantial size, ranging from 6 to 8 inches in diameter. Rip rap is strategically placed along coastlines, riverbanks, and slopes to prevent soil erosion and absorb the energy of waves or flowing water. Its robust nature makes it highly effective in stabilizing these areas, and it is commonly used in civil engineering and environmental projects.
1-1/2 Stone
1-1/2″ stone, also called 1-1/2″ crushed stone, is a robust coarse aggregate used in construction and landscaping. With a diameter of about 1-1/2 inches, it offers excellent stability, making it ideal for heavy-duty tasks like road construction and drainage systems. Its size also aids in effective water drainage, particularly in areas prone to water accumulation, and it’s readily available at construction supply stores for projects requiring durability and strength.
3/4 Stone
3/4″ stone, also known as 3/4″ crushed stone, is a versatile aggregate used in construction and landscaping. With a 3/4-inch diameter, it creates stable foundations for driveways, roads, and concrete. Its larger size aids drainage and adds texture for landscaping.
3/8 Stone
3/8-inch stone, also known as 3/8″ stone or 3/8″ crushed stone, is a finely crushed aggregate material commonly used in construction and landscaping. Its small, uniform particle size, approximately 3/8 inch in diameter, makes it ideal for applications where a smoother surface or tighter compaction is required. This versatile stone is often used as a base for walkways, patios, and other hardscaping projects.
9/16 Stone Dust
9/16-inch stone dust is a finely crushed aggregate used in construction and landscaping. Its small particle size allows for tight compaction, making it ideal for leveling surfaces and creating stable bases for various projects like pavers and concrete slabs. It offers versatility, aesthetic appeal, and easy availability, making it a popular choice in outdoor construction and design.
Loam
Loam is a fertile soil type prized for its balanced mixture of sand, silt, and clay particles. It retains moisture effectively while allowing for proper drainage and aeration, making it ideal for gardening and agriculture. Its nutrient-rich composition supports healthy plant growth, and its easy workability and versatility make it a popular choice for a wide range of plants and landscaping projects. Typically, loam is applied to finish the grade and is seeded with grass.
Reclaimed Asphalt (3/4 Hot Top)
Reclaimed asphalt, or RAP, is recycled asphalt pavement material obtained by milling old roads and repurposing it for cost-effective and eco-friendly paving. It reduces waste, conserves resources, and lessens the environmental impact while providing durable road surfaces. Great for driveways, parking lots.
6 Screened Gravel
6-inch screened gravel is a coarse aggregate material processed to remove smaller particles and debris. It’s commonly used for heavy-duty applications like drainage systems and erosion control due to its large particle size and cleanliness.
2 Screened Gravel
2-inch screened gravel is a coarse aggregate with uniform, clean particles, each typically no larger than 2 inches in diameter. It’s commonly used in construction and landscaping for applications like drainage systems and erosion control due to its size and cleanliness.
Septic Sand
Septic sand, also called drain field sand, is a specific coarse sand or gravel used in septic systems. It plays a vital role in the drain field by allowing wastewater from the septic tank to percolate into the soil, where natural filtration and treatment occur. This sand prevents clogging and ensures the safe disposal of wastewater while protecting the environment
Bank Run sand
Bank run sand refers to a type of natural, unprocessed sand that is excavated directly from its source, such as riverbanks or sand pits. Unlike processed sands, it typically contains a mixture of various-sized particles and may include silt, clay, rocks, and organic materials. Bank run sand is often used for less refined purposes, such as filling or grading, rather than in applications that require precise particle size or purity. It’s commonly employed in construction and landscaping where a more rustic and cost-effective material is acceptable.
Sand Fill
Sand fill is used in construction to level land, create foundations, or improve stability in various projects like land reclamation, building foundations, road construction, sports fields, landscaping, and utilities. This sand contains some small rocks and organic matter
Dead Sand
Dead sand typically refers to sand that lacks the organic matter and is virtually free of rocks and nutrients needed to support plant life. Dead sand is often found in areas with poor soil fertility, such as arid deserts or beach dunes where vegetation struggles to grow due to the lack of essential nutrients and water. Typically used for pool bases, sandboxes, and various other landscaping and construction projects.
Rock salt
Rock salt is a natural mineral primarily used for de-icing roads and sidewalks during winter. It’s also employed in cooking, industrial processes, water softening, and livestock nutrition. This versatile substance is chiefly composed of sodium chloride and has various practical applications beyond snow and ice management.
Winter Sand (With Salt)
Winter sand is a mixture of sand and salt used to improve traction on icy surfaces. It enhances safety by increasing friction and can also help melt ice. This material is vital for winter road maintenance.
